Shrimp Grits

April 2019

Recipe Provided by: Cindy McDonald

Grits (cooked according to package directions)

About 2 pounds peeled, cooked shrimp

1 pound bacon

Velveeta cheese

About 1 pint heavy whipping cream

Make your grits according to package directions. I use a large pot to feed about 8-10 people. Add peeled, cooked shrimp (about 2 pounds) to the grits. Cook a pound of bacon (crisp), cut it up and add to the shrimp and grits. Add enough cheese to the grits for your taste, along with heavy whipping cream, about a pint. Turn on heat under your boiler, making sure heat is low when melting the cheese so it does not stick, and stir often.
