Avis Baggett was born in Bogalusa, La., on July 12, 1943, to Earl and Virgie Cameron. She has one brother, Gerald Cameron, and one late sister, Carol Blackwell.
Ms. Baggett has one son, Robbie. Her two grandchildren are Jonathan and Natalee, and she has three great-grandchildren: Rylee, Zoe, and Karlee.
She was married to the love of her life, Mr. J. L. Baggett, for 42 years and lived in the Ford’s Creek area of Poplarville. She has been a member of Ford’s Creek Baptist Church for 44 years. She worked at John C. Stennis Space Center and retired from Pearl River Community College. Ms. Baggett loves dogs, quilting, painting, sewing, and crocheting. Her favorite thing to do is read, and her favorite author is Dee Henderson.
